The Importance of Nutrition

Spinal adjustments as described and nutrition that is guaranteed to be at a high level of quality, are two of the greatest assets in your health program. Perhaps you disagree. Perhaps your current doctor disagrees. Unfortunately,It is not uncommon for patients to have their annual physical and to be pronounced in perfect health, and one week later die from some undiscovered ailment. The ordinary physician very seldom looks at factors that are much more revealing about your health.

Assuming that you have a perfectly functioning nervous system-the brain is able to communicate with each cell in the entire body - the other major factor is supplying fuel to these cells, so that they may produce energy and perform all of the functions necessary in a normally healthy lifestyle. These factors or “fuel” include vitamins, minerals, fats, and proteins. Government dictates, the Food Pyramid, food processors and political medicine all state that a ”balanced diet” is all that you need for all of this fuel provision.

Unfortunately, they are wrong. Seriously wrong. Those physicians and scientists that have really evaluated the dietary intake of our citizens will rail against the assertion that this so-called “balanced diet” provides everything needed to run the body. The protests and disagreement with these statements by many doctors and scientists often go unheard, much to the detriment to the health of our country.

Very few citizens eat a balanced diet, and the nutritionally deficient food available today clearly does not even come close to supplying the needs of the human body in the vitamin and mineral department. Dis-ease of the body is the result and this can then result in disease!

Paul Bergner, in his The Healing Power of Minerals reports actual statistics from the United States Department of Agriculture that state that the food analyzed in 1915 in this country, contained an average of more than 75% greater amounts of vitamins and minerals than the same food analyzed in the more recent past. Thus the need for another common recommendation made in Regaining and Maintaining Your Health. A hair mineral analysis is highly recommended to make sure you are getting the right kinds and right amounts of minerals. Certain determinations of vitamin needs can be made from the hair mineral assessment.

The federal government states that 90 mg of Vitamin C per day is all that is necessary for prevention of the disease called scurvy, and good health. Those physicians and scientists who really know the story, laugh at such a ridiculous statement. Robert Cathcart, M.D., states (see: www.doctoryourself.com) that if you ”take 10,000mg of Vitamin C at one time and do not get diarrhea, something is wrong, and you better find out what it is!” (Emphasis added) That’s ten (10) tablets of 1,000 mg each, versus one 100 mg tablet, as recommended by our government. When you have diarrhea with taking Vitamin C, you know that you are taking enough for the body to use for the current time. You should then reduce the amount of “C” until the diarrhea stops.

No less of an authority than Dr. Linus Pauling , winner of two Nobel Prizes, one in chemistry, and a further Nobel Peace prize, states that arterial problems with cholesterol plaques built up inside the blood vessels, is a result of localized or “focal scurvy.” He states that cholesterol forms a “plaster cast” in support of arteries that are weakened by the lack of adequate Vitamin C. Dr. Pauling took 20,000 mg of Vitamin C per day for all of his later years, and lived to be over 90 years old. And still the government says that 90 mg. per day is all that is necessary for good health.

You should also remember that only arteries get “plugged up” by cholesterol. Veins do not, and the reason is that the arteries deal with the pressure of the heart beat, and the veins do not suffer with that pressure buildup. Accordingly, even though veins carry blood and are long tubes like arteries, cholesterol does not plug those vessels.

The human body’s intelligence selectively targets arteries for cholesterol use, and the pharmaceutical companies want every one to take statin drugs and reduce their levels of cholesterol. They also want to make lots of money by following that assessment of arterial health. An August, 2008 study printed in the Canadian Medical Association Journal suggests that lowering cholesterol increases your risk of cancer by 33%! Is the cholesterol anthology correct? Not likely. There is a better way!

FOOD COMBINING

A story in history described a Civil War soldier that was shot in the abdomen, leaving a gaping, unhealed hole in his stomach. A physician examined the stomach through this wound, and noted that single types of foods, e.g., meats and other proteins, passed out of the stomach in about 3 hours after swallowing. If a meat (protein) and a food such as bread, noodles or white flour (carbohydrates) were eaten at the same time, it took 8 hours for the stomach to empty. Thus was born the concept of proper and improper food “combining.”

Eating vegetables and fruit together also markedly impairs digestion and slows down the whole digestive process. Mixing meat and bread for example, and mixing fruit and vegetables at a separate meal, causes the food to digest poorly, and actually putrefy, placing a burden on the body’s elimination system, and impairing use of whatever vitamins and minerals may be present in the meal.

So eating a recommended breakfast of eggs, bacon (protein) with toast, and hash- brown potatoes, rice, or (heavy carbohydrates), violates any rule of proper food combining. The end result is toxic to the body, over-works the system, and ends up making you overweight. Frying the bacon and eggs and hash browns are equally harmful, since the high temperature alters the oils used or contained in the food product itself.
